Toy Workshop 7-28-2018

Today was a super summer day, so we setup sanders and routers in the parking lot and began.

Activities: 
      Routering critters with dremel routers (1/8" roundovers) (Ed)

      Drilling Give away vans (Mary and Darwin)

      Wheel installation on toys (Harley, Julian, Richard, Ralph)

      Sanding and routering toys (Danny, Ken)

      Building Paddles with wooden Ball and Strings (Rollie)
      Inventory and Storage (Lauree)

Toymaking Status:

At the end of the workshop, we had six boxes of toys ready to spray, and eight boxes awaiting the same operation in Bob's garage.    A small number of airplane wings need to be sprayed as well.

We prepared 241 toys for inventory today.  We currently have 1,043 toys in inventory.  We anticipate receiving requests for approximately 2,400 toys.

Scroll Saw SIG - July 19th, 2018

Tonight's discussions centered on Rick's recent motorcycle trip to Indianapolis and points nearby.

Attendees included  Ken, Darwin, Rick, Danny, Bob and Kathie.


Boxes were exchanged and sorted after an inventory of current toys was conducted by Rick.  New inventory was moved upstairs for the 2018 toy program.  Basket ball game stock was passed to Ken for building backboards and assembling launchers to basketball game bases.

RCWA Members Assist CFB with Pinewood Derby July 16-20, 2018

ALL:

Just wanted to summarize the dates/times reserved for the CFB Pinewood Derby Assist - we will be helping build the race cars.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 9 am to 1 pm

Friday - 10:30 am to 12 noon

Please come to the blue doors - if they are locked, come around to the front doors and make your way to the Shop.

Come as you can.  Lyn is the Shop Super during this event.  Carri is the backup.  Thanks.  Bob B

By Friday, 108 race cars had been started,  and 82 were built, painted, and ready for the races next week.   A test track was used to ensure that all cars would fit on the race track on race day.  

Lyn and the kids made a card to tell us that they appreciated the efforts we put forth to make their Pinewood Derby a success.

Toymaking Status:

We prepared 232 toys for inventory today.  We currently have 801 toys in inventory.  We anticipate receiving requests for approximately 2,400 toys. 

WOOD MOVEMENT/HOMEWORK

Kathie B sealed a total of  161 toys and sanded 42 toys -  this past week in preparation for this workshop.  These toys were brought to the workshop needing sanding after sealing.  Bob sprayed 226 toys that are ready for inventory or ready for wheels.  Today several boxes of toys were returned ready for sealing.
