We met at the SHOP at the Club for Boys for a Toy Making Workshop on April 24, 2021. The temperature at 9 am was 40 degrees and improved to 47 degrees and windy by noon. But still too chilly for sanding and routering outside.
Attending (19): Danny, Mary, Jerry, Patsy, Laurie, Darwin, Rick, Jim, Maggie, Al, Lon, Bob, Kathie, Dennis, John W, Ralph, Julian, Harley, and Tony
Activities:
- Set up tools and work stations.
- Routering edges of 3/4" thick critters.
- Cutting toys and critters to shape on 3 Scroll Saws and one Bandsaw.
- Drilling eyes for critters.
- Drilling axle holes and windows in 2" thick toys.
- Hand-sanding (final before finish spraying) turtle banks, helicopters, and love bugs.
- Second sanding by hand of jeeps after drilling.
- Final sanding of vehicle sets (3/4" thick) for bags, now ready for inventory.
- Several boxes of toys were taken home for work by individual members in home shops.
- Paddle games and caterpillars were brought in by Lon and John respectively - ready for sealing.
- Jerry finished the tow hooks for the tow trucks - now ready to be sealed.
- Rick and Jerry each brought in a box of critters (ready for inventory).
- Tear down workstations and clean up the area.
- Load up tools.
