Toy Workshop - Sept 10, 2011

A Toy Workshop was held at the RCWA Shop on Sept 10, 2011 from 9 am til noon. Seven toymakers worked on final sanding of helicopters and rotor blades, assembling helicopters, drilling holes in vans for crayons, and drilling windows in cars and cruisers.

Toy Workshop - Sept 9, 2011

A Toy Workshop was held at Bob’s Shop on Sept 9, 2011 from 9 am til noon. Four toymakers were in attendance with a mission to sand everything that had been cut to date. We started out with about 15 boxes of helicopters, race cars, old cars, bugs, tugboats, and cruisers. There are now about 5 boxes left to sand, so much was accomplished. We also shaped the tugboat cabins, cut cruisers, and routered the edges of all helicopters, and several race cars.

RCWA FAMILY POTLUCK PICNIC - July 16, 2011

Twenty two brave souls including family and friends of the RCWA came out in the 100+ degree SD weather to enjoy a family potluck picnic complete with BBQ burgers and dogs and home-made ice cream on Saturday July 16, 2011.

A new bean bag game (aka corn-hole game) was tested and used by several tried-and-true horse shoe throwers!

The homemade ice cream turned by hand by Grant Coffin was a big hit too!

General Meeting - 11 July 2011

The General Meeting of the RCWA was held on Monday July 11, 2011.

Plans were finalized for the Rapid City Woodworkers Association Family Potluck Picnic this Saturday:

Place: Bob and Kathie Buchanan's
2361 Lindsey Drive
Rapid City, SD

Date/Time: Saturday July 16th from 3 pm to 9 pm (we plan to eat around 5 pm)

Details:
Burger/Hot Dogs/Silverware/Plates/Drinks/BBQ will be provided

Bring either CHIPS, SALAD, or a Dessert (to go with Home-made Ice Cream), and maybe your lawn chairs

Games: Bocce Ball and Bean Bag Toss

Toymaking Workshop - July 8, 2011

A Toy Workshop was held at the RCWA Shop on July 8, 2011 from 9 am til noon. Seven toymakers were in attendance. Animal Cutouts were traced on 1” material, and PT Cruisers, and small bugs were traced on 2” material. Grant returned a boxful of rough cut helicopters. Roger Bares turned in about 6 boxes of finished toys including banks, and toy trains.
