Toy Workshop 5 (TWS2021-05) 3-27-2021

The Rapid City Woodworkers held a Toy Workshop on Saturday morning 3-27-2021 at the "Craft" Shop at the Club for Boys from 9 am to noon.

Attending  (19):   Danny and Mary, Laurie and Darwin, Ken, Ralph, Rick, Lon, Patsy and Jerry, Mary Jo, Grant, Don, Harley, Bel, Carson, Dennis, Bob and Kathie

Summary:  We finished tracing tugboat hulls, as the last toy to trace of the toys that are cut from 3/4" pine.  Additionally, we drilled eyes in "critters".  We cut toys on the scroll saw from the Traced Critter toys.   As part of the tracing process, we cut the wood into individual pieces and packed them in boxes, labelled the boxes, and recorded them into our Tracing List for 2021.  Several boxes of toys were taken home by members to work on in individual shops.  Four boxes of toys were sanded and readied for a final spray finish before installing wheels.

The metal cabinet containing our toy making tools and supplies was emptied and removed from the building.  Also removed were 2 carts,  2 drill presses and several boxes of traced toys (22).  This is in following new guidelines from the Club for Boys related to keeping the building " Tour Ready" at all times.  Additionally, an updated policy at the CFB prohibits outside organizations from storing most items in the building.
