Today, the Rapid City Woodworkers delivered over 700 toys to the Youth and Family Services (YFS) facility at Plaza Drive. They arrived at 9 am and packed in the xx boxes for the 9 different YFS locations. Darcie Decker and Brianna Nelson from YFS greeted us and shared coffee and cookies. Then the kids came one class room at a time into the room. Darcie introduced them to Jolly Rollie, Darwin, Ed and all the woodworkers. Then each child was invited to come to the tables and pick out a toy for their very own Christmas gift from the woodworkers.

The wood workers club began the service project more than 10 years ago. The non-tech gifts are a hit year after year.
"I think that you can see when the kids get their toys big smiles are on their face. It lights up their day. This is kind of the reason we do it every year just to see the reaction on the kids face," says Bob Buchanan the president of the Wood Workers Club.
The group made at least 3,000 toys breaking a record for the most they've ever made.
