We held our thirteenth Toy Workshop (TWS) for 2024 on Saturday July 13, 2024, from 9:00 to 12:00 am. This was held at the Wood Shop at 910 Wood Ave in Rapid City. The shop is in the basement of the annex to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
It was a beautiful day with the temperature at 95 degrees. We worked inside today handsanding, installing wheels, drilling and cutting and outside sanding, cutting and routering.
The attendees at today's workshop (30) included Rick, Stu, Jim Burk, Nick, Roy, Harley, Keith, Patsy, Jerry, Bob B, Kathie, Cleon, Gary Graves, Lon, Abby, David, Matt, Josh, Deidra, Ed, Lauree, Julian, and Russ.
Activities today:
Gary Graves brought in mini- helicopters, ready for routering and drilling rotor holes.
Cleon continued in the role of Tugboat Captain today. Cabins were sanded and routered today by the "outside sanders". A Smoke stack drilling jig was made by by Bob and David. Several hulls need to be drilled, cut, sanded and routered. Cleon worked on the hulls today cutting them to shape on the scrollsaw.
Sealed toys were hand sanded today in preparation for the final spraying. Toy blanks were cut to shape on scroll saws. Wheels were installed by Nick, Harley, Julian, Russ, Keith, and Roy.
Toy movement:
Lon brought in one box of toys ready to be sealed, and brought more home to work on. Ed brought in two boxes of toys cut to shape. He took home three more to work on.
Jerry brought in Motorboats ready to be sealed.
