With temperatures in the high 90's, several members of the RCWA gathered at Old Story Book Island Park today to support the Little Black Hills Battles at Monument Pediatrics. This is a fundraiser to assist young people and their parents battling diseases at Monument Pediatrics.
Attendees included Rick, Patsy, Jerry, Stu, Bob, Kathie, Matt, Mary G, Lauree and Darwin.
Giraffes were designed and tested by Jerry. The giraffes were traced by Jerry on 1" poplar. Some (16) were cut at the SS SIG in June. The rest were cut and routered by Jerry. Thanks Jerry!
Patsy, Kathie and Matt assisted the little folks with the coloring of giraffes or vans. Jerry and Stu glued and installed wheels. Lauree, Darwin and Mary G helped the little folks test out and race their vehicles of choice. Over 39 giraffes were colored by kids of all ages ranging from a few months to teens. Ten vans were colored, wheeled and raced. Many parents and lots of kids were very excited about the wooden toys today!
We were asked by the coordinator of the event to please come again next year!
