We held our 14th Toy Workshop (TWS) for 2022 on Saturday September 10, 2022, from 9 to noon. This was held at the Wood Shop at 910 Wood Ave in Rapid City. The shop is in the basement of the annex to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
The attendees at today's workshop (18) included Grant, Harley, Bob, Kathie, Jerry, Patsy, Julian, Rollie, Norma, Al, Stu, Russ, Rick, Frank, Gary G, Dennis, Mary Jo and Bel.
Today Jerry, Russ, and Rollie cut toys using scroll saws. Frank traced about 50 tugboat hulls, and Russ and Rollie cut them to shape. Bob assembled tugboat cabins with glue and nails. Gary Graves picked up a box of ICU items for basketball game bases. Eight members hand sanded airplane fuselages, and other various 2" and 1" toys that had been sealed with shellac. No wheels were installed today. There was power sanding and round over routering outside under the tent in 65 degree weather.
Several members returned various toys they worked on at home including two boxes of 1" toys traced on popular by Tony. Fire trucks were completed by Jerry and are almost ready for inventory (awaiting a few ladders). Tractors were assembled and finished by Rick and are complete; they were turned in today.
At the end of the day, there were 12 boxes of toys and the 169 airplane fuselages ready to be sprayed with finish, and one box needing to be sealed.
Tractors (156) were packed and placed into inventory.
