Tony is out of town. There is no treasury report for this month.

Special Interest Groups
Next Scroll Saw SIG is scheduled for October 16 at Rick Weisbeck’s home (6704 Kimberly Drive, Blackhawk) from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Turning SIG is scheduled for October 30 1:00-3:00 will be held West Hills, 1116 West Blvd. Ken Ketel, Michael Howard, and Julian will demonstrate ornaments. There is a planned demonstration for turning threads.
General Meeting
Next general meeting will be November 11, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Rick Weisbeck will bring refreshments.

Hats with the new website url are available for purchase for $15.
Christmas Potluck – the decision was to cancel the summer picnic. The next social gathering will be the Christmas potluck, Dec. 14 at Nemo Fire Hall. We will plan to eat at 11:30. Sign-up sheet is being passed around.
Harley has some tools to donate to the club. We will plan to move items from his shop October 19th after the Toy workshop.
Michael Slider has some tools and wood for sale. If interested call 605-390-0819
Wood Recovery
Darwin obtained a whole pallet of wood obtained from Forest Products. We plan to plane/sand some of it to see if the wood is usable for the toy program.
Toy program
Next Toy Workshop will be Saturday, October 19, 2024. We will meet every Saturday until toys are completed.
Toy distribution is 7 Dec.
We will create a mouse sanding table downstairs to do some final sanding. The station should be ready by the next Toy Workshop, October 19.
We traced 3,285 toys. Of these, 2,362 have been completed.
Jerry is working on heart boxes.
Rick is finishing 25 cradles.
Bob is assembling 100 basketball hoops.
We have 4 boxes of blocks which need routing and sanding – about half have been finished.
Chalk boards are nearly done – about 60
We will put love bugs on hold until we finish the other toys.
Tug Boats are nearly done.
Boys Club, Youth and Family Services, Catholic Indian School in Chamberlain and most of the club requests have been taken care of and will be honored.
Show and Tell
Stu Kellogg brought in a threading jig with two threading samples – a canister with 16 threads per inch and a lidded vase with 12 threads per inch. Jig is set up for a banjo that will receive a 5/8 inch post and is available to club members who might like to try it.
Rick brought in a couple of samples of scroll saw work. He brought in 4 lamp posts and a multi-layered nature scene (picture not available).
