Toy Workshop (TWS2020-02) 1-25-2020

Activities:

Tracing critters, cutting critters, tracing tugboat hulls, Tracing Wheeled toys, packing, labeling blanks, drilling windows and starter holes for scrollsawing.

Stats:
    Toy making goal for 2019:  2800
    Toys traced today: 469
    Total 2020 toys traced to date:  1206

A great start to 2020, with another 469 of the (traceable) toys traced, boxed, and labeled today!  Once again, several of the boxed blanks were taken home with members to work on in their own shops.

Toy Workshop 1-11-2020 (TWS2020-01)

Just a reminder that we will have our first toy workshop of the year on Saturday morning - January 11, 2020, from 9 am to noon at the Club for Boys.  We'll be tracing and starting to build toys, so bring sharp pencils, awls, miter saws, scrollsaws and drill presses.

SS SIG - Thursday Dec 19th, 2019

Just a reminder that Rick will be hosting a Scrollsaw Special Interest Group (SS SIG) gathering tomorrow evening at his shop in Black Hawk starting at 7 pm.

Rick finished cutting all the parts and animals and people for Noah's Ark, and glued and assembled the Ark.  This is a candidate for a Raffle Item at the April 18, 2020, Woodworking Show at Knecht Home Center in Rapid City.


Rick also displayed a large group of Christmas scroll sawn ornaments, along with sources of patterns for each.
