Heart boxes needed some minor sanding of bottom edges.  Now are ready to be sprayed.  Lids must be kept with the heart box, they are not interchangeable.

The heart boxes are ready for felt in the bottom and necklaces.

The gun still had paint in it and there was some daylight left, so I sprayed the rest of the love bugs  - about 40.  Trust me, I really did, but I forgot to take pictures.

Woodturning Special Interest Group (WT SIG) 10.25.2023)

WT SIG - today Maggie demonstrated how to make lidded bowls.  Blanks were available for making your own lidded bowls.  Maggie completed one lidded bowl, and Al started another one on the club lathe.  Ornaments sent home as homework from the last WT SIG were returned by Jerry and Al as Show and Tell.

[Building being remodeled - located in Fairburn SD]

Attending:
Jerry, Lon, Al, Maggie, Jim Brown, Bob, Rick, Grant, Keith

Jim Brown prepared several wood blanks for today's SIG.

Here's the piece before the top is parted off from the bottom.

Jerry finished his homework from last month:  inside outside turning finials.

Maggie initially drilled out the bowl using a Forstner bit.  She enlarged/hollowed out the bowl further using gouges.

Al worked on a lidded bowl using a walnut blank glued up by Jim Brown.

Here Maggie is working on shaping the lid.

Grant shared a technique to more easily smooth out the sides of the bowl using a skew chisel.

A future project is the Simple Snowman.

Other future projects include mallets, and awls.
