Toy Workshop 3-9-2019 (TWS 2019-05)

There was a toy workshop held on Saturday March 9, 2019 at the Club for Boys from 9 am to noon.
The day started out with light snow and swirling wind whipping snow from trees and making for low visibility.  Then by 8 am, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day!  The temperature at game time today was 27 degrees F.  The number of attendees was lower than normal due to the swirling snow\low visibility north of Rapid City.

Attendees (15): Danny and Mary Green, Rick Weisbeck, Lauree and Darwin Buus, Ed Pike, Rollie Lynde, Al Oines, Lon Gose, Steve Larson, Julian Wigen, Dennis, Jim Burk, and Bob and Kathie Buchanan

Activities:
Tracing, cutting, packing, labeling blanks
Tracing Critters, CFB racers
Drilling windows, drilling axle holes, drilling starter holes for fretwork
Cutting racers, caravan cars, push toys, and critters on scroll saw and bandsaw

Four boxes of toys that were sealed this week were brought to the workshop for sanding.  Several boxes of toys that members took home at previous workshops and cut to size were returned from home garage workshops.  Lon cut to size, drilled holes, routered edges, and sanded all paddle games, and returned them to the workshop today.
Statistics:
Toy making goal for 2019: 3000
Toys yet to trace:                130

If you missed today’s workshop, you missed the opportunity to have your picture taken with Flat Stanley.  Flat Stanley is visiting South Dakota from Indiana for a few weeks in March.  If you want to have your picture taken, be there for the General Meeting on Monday March 11, 2019.  Here are photos from the Toy Workshop:
