Wood Preparation Day Jan 18, 2021

Today, despite numerous snow flurries and windy conditions, several members of the RCWA gathered to prepare wood donated by Forest Products for making into wooden toys.  Danny and Mary Green loaded the wood into Danny's trailer last Friday.  Danny then brought this load of wood to Bob's Shop for the "Planing Event of the Year."

Members included Danny, Rick, Al, Jim, Lon, Ken, Grant, and Bob and Kathie.

Members, using the club's sturdy Rockwell planer, planed both sides of 680 pieces of 2" thick wood.  This included 2x6's, 2x8's, 2x10's and 2x12's.  This is estimated to be enough wood for all traceable 2" thick toys for this year's Toy Program.  Other wood is available for making 1" thick toys and will be loaded from the RV Barn and brought to the Club for Boys Shop in the upcoming weeks.

Boxes of 1" thick poplar donated by Mangum Enterprises was distributed to Rick today for making toy tractors.

Also toys that are already complete and ready for 2021 inventory were loaded into Rick's truck today.  This included Basketball Games, Critter Bags, and Tugboats.
