Toy Workshop 10 (TWS2021-10) 6-12-2021

We held a Toy Making Workshop at the Club for Boys on June 12, 2021.  The day was sunny with a temperature at 8 am of 65 degrees.  Beautiful day for working outside doing sanding and routering.  By noon it was 82 degrees.

Attending (25):  Rick, Al,  Lon, Bob, Kathie, Dennis, Tony,  Frank, Ken, Bobbe, Danny, Mary, Grant, Harley, Terri, Bel, Julian, Ralph, MaryJo, Patsy, Ron,  Jerry, Paul, Jim,  and Don.

Activities:

  1. Unload tools.
  2. Set up tools and work stations.
  3. Router edges of 3/4" thick critters.
  4. Cut toys and critters to shape on 2 Scroll Saws.
  5. Drill axle holes and windows in 2" thick toys and eyes on critters.
  6. Hand-sand (final before wheels) jeeps and rabbits.
  7. Toys for home shops - Several boxes of toys were taken home for work by individual members in home shops.
  8. Bob brought in about 165 finish sprayed toys ready for wheels, and about 200 toys to be handsanded after sealer was applied.  Rick brought in 900 wheels sprayed and ready to install.
  9. Jerry brought in fire trucks, ready for inventory.
  10. Don returned critters (3 boxes) with patterns, cut and sanded (1st time).  Don took home 3 boxes of toys to work at home.
  11. Lon brought in a box of toys (cut, routered, sanded 1st time).  Lon took home 2 boxes of toys to work at home.
  12. Ken returned a box of toys (helos) ready for sealing.  Ken is working on toy trucks at home.
  13. Install wheels and blue axles on Love Bugs (22).
  14. Install small rotors and wheels on prototype helicopters (5).
  15. Inventory, label, count, and package completed toys: 163 toys
  16. Tear down workstations;  clean up the area.
  17. Load up tools.
