May 2023 General Meeting 5.8.2023

Nick shared a tip on how to make a sandpaper sheet cutter.  You can easily cut a whole sheet into four equal  1/4 sheets for pad Sanders or for hand sanders.

Instructions for Building Sandpaper Sheet Cutter

Two-Sided Sand Paper Cutter
Material List
 ½ x 12 ¾ x 12 ¼  MDF/MDO/Smooth Plywood
 ½ x 1 7/8 x 12 ¾ MDF/MDO/Smooth Plywood
 Standard fine tooth Hacksaw blades
½ screws and washers for mounting hacksaw blades
6- small brads or screws for mounting center divider

Note:
I used ½ MDO because I had some on my scrap cart, but any smooth material would work.

Construction:
Step 1: cut plywood to size
Step 2: attach center divider to base using glue and small brads or screws to secure. See photo for sizes and location.
Step 3: attached the hacksaw blades at both edges of the base using ½ screws and small washers to raise hacksaw blade slightly above base to allow sandpaper to slide under blade. Tip: use a ¼ sheet of sandpaper as guide when mounting blades to assure proper placement of blades.
Step 4: Cut sandpaper to size

Guidelines for Tool/Garage Sale Fundraiser for the Toy Program:

Tool Sale Leaders:  Rick, Bob, Jerry, Stu, Tony and Al
The Tool/Garage Sale is a fundraiser for the Toy Program.  Anyone on the members roster may bring items to sell.  Ten percent of your sales will be deducted as a donation to the Toy Program.
You may bring anything you want to the sale, not just tools.
Your garage sale ID is listed in the attached member roster.
Before the sale, label each item you want to sell with your ID and asking price. (Use tag or tape or other.)
If you are donating an item to RCWA - mark item with #99 and a suggested price.  Leaders will disposition donated items that do not sell.
If you are selling an item, mark item with your ID# from list, and asking price.  You are responsible for retrieving items you bring that do not sell.
Tony will total all your sales using your ID number.  Shortly after the end of the sale, he will deduct 10% from your total sales as a donation to this fundraiser, and write you a check for the rest.
A Poster is attached for posting in your favorite places.
A map to Wes's house is shown on the Poster.
We will setup tables before 7 am on Saturday.
You may bring items to Wes's garage on Friday afternoon if you like. Call Wes before.
The Sale runs from 7 am to 3 pm on Saturday.  We may end sooner if interest wanes, or if it rains.
If you can't come to the sale and still want to sell something, let one of the Tool Sale leaders know, to work out arrangements.
Signs will be posted around the neighborhood.
There will be a table set up at the front of the house with info and samples from the Toy Program.

Action Item:  Please list any items that you are planning to sell on the Tool/Garage Sale
