Toy Workshop - Nov 8, 2008

TOY WORKSHOP AT SPLINTERS - TOY CAR FABRICATION AND ASSEMBLY

Final assembly of toy cars began on Saturday morning. We completed over 75 cars before running into a weather-induced parts shortage. A shipment of wheels and axles from Casey’s Wood Products, Inc. in Woolwich, Maine was held up in Sioux Falls, SD due to the early winter blizzard in western South Dakota. High winds and deep snow on Thursday caused the closure of I-90 early Thursday and most of the day Friday from Mitchell, SD to the Wyoming border. I-90 is the main transportation corridor from the "east" to western South Dakota.

ELF ROGER's WORKSHOP
Heart Box Fabrication and Toy Tractor Product Line Fabrication

Roger worked independently in his workshop this week on a new product line. He has completed the first phase (the low rate initial production phase) of his voluntary contract with a run of 37 heart boxes with sliding lids. Last week he finished up the final group of toy tractors for 2008 with a run of almost 200.
