We held a Toy Workshop on May 12th. We met on Saturday morning from 9 am til noon
at the RCWA Shop at 910 Wood Avenue
in Rapid City, SD.
We have prepared a typical operations sheet (referred to
as an Assembly History Tag) which we are adapting from a high tech aerospace
production line for use on our toy production line. We will be using it to keep track of all
operations performed on a given box or group of toys.

Activities at the May 12th workshop were
performed by eight members who worked at drilling holes/windows in wheeled
vehicles, tracing airplane fuselages, painting axles, and second sanding on
cars, busses, banks and crayon vans.
Many members took home boxes of wood to finish in their
workshops/garages. This include
operations such as first time sanding, the roundover routering, second sanding
using Mouse sanders, the sealing of the toy, and some piece part fabrication. Members participating in this month’s
workshop included Rick, Lon, Julian, Larry, Bel, Kathie, Darwin
and Bob.
