SS SIG 7-18-2019

The Scroll Saw Special Interest Group (SS SIG) was held at 7 pm at Rick's Shop on Thursday 7-18-2019.  Attending:  Danny and Mary, Patsy and Jerry, Kathie and Bob, Rick, and Ken

Tonight's active activity was cutting the tractors for the upcoming Sturgis Threshing Bee and drilling the axle holes.  A total of 51 tractors were traced on redwood planed to 1 1/4" earlier in the day, and 51 were cut to shape and drilled this evening.  Bob took the tractors in his shop and will be brought to the event on August 17th.  Wheels will be added at the event including 1 1/2" front wheels and 2" back wheels.  Kids will color the tractors and race them down our race track. 
    
Plans for a Noah's Ark project were reviewed.  This is an ark to hang/stand with two each of several animals and Noah.  Cedar that Steve Larson planed to about 5/8" will be used for many of the animals.

An in-process toy exchanges was made involving a box of 56 dachshunds plus ears was passed to Bob and Kathie for sealing and finishing.

Rick gave Bob the 1/2" and 1/4" dowels to be used for the Tree Tents project for United Way.
