We held a toy workshop on APRIL 14, 2012 at the RCWA Shop in the
basement of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church at 910 Wood Ave in Rapid City.
Those attending included Julian Wigen, Bel Felix, Char, Larry Borg, Lon
Gose, Darwin Buus, Harley Schmadeke, Kathie Buchanan, and Bob Buchanan.
Julian put together our initial inventory list for 2012, packaging and categorizing all available toys on hand.
Lon finished a group of cars by adding wheels and axles.
Harley and Larry cleaned up the drilling area and began drilling windows and axle holes in a large number of wheeled vehicles including buses, crayon vans, and PT Cruisers.
Bel and Char traced out various wheeled vehicles on planed 2x4 stock including PT Cruisers, racers, and the mini-bug. They were using the newly re-designed PT Cruiser and racer patterns refined by Frank using Autocad.
Kathie traced multiple patterns for animal/critter cutouts on 3/4 inch pine.
Newly inducted into the toymaking program is Larry Borg. Larry recently moved to the Rapid City area from Flint, Michigan. Larry jumped right in and got busy drilling holes for windows and wheels in various wheeled vehicles.
